Junior League of Boston Showhouse. The Kitchen.
Spring is ShowHouse Season and I am thrilled that the Junior League of Boston chose to participate this year with the Nathaniel Allen House in Newton. Lucky for you Emily O'Brien took some amazing photos and I get to use them here to share the beauty with you. We also have Beth Daigle of the Lifestyle Blog, 3 Olives and a Twist chiming in about her favorites! Hop over to each of these ladies posts to follow along while we each dish about our favorites!
First up ... This stunning kitchen by Vani Sayeed Studios. SERIOUSLY STUNNING.
When I walked in the door I first noticed Vani's interpretation of built in cabinets with open shelving. Not quite as trendy as the pure open shelf look, her version gives a fresh look while keeping with the traditional feel of the house and New England lifestyle.
And, then ... Literally ... I gasped. In awe. The ceiling height gave Vani the perfect place to wow us. And SHE DID. With the amazing RED vinyl wallpaper (perfectly suited for a kitchen) that looked like a hide. And the rustic beams on the ceiling the perfect humbling moment against such punch. I felt like a child trying on a princess costume, I just stood in the middle of this kitchen and twirled slowly around looking up trying to take it all in. Oh, and the chandelier. Yes.
The 12 X 24 tiles laid out to create a beautiful "parquet" floor gives a visual balance to the ceiling and walls.
I loved her mix of texture, glamour, traditional and modern all in one swoop. Notice the long subway tile next to the marble backdrop over the stove.
The ShowHouse is going on through June 5th and you can purchase tickets at www.BostonShowHouse.org What a beautiful and inspiring renovation this historic home has undergone! More on Emily's, Beth's and my favorite rooms ... and why ... stay tuned!
