Seasonal Living Magazine's Virtual Showhouse
Happy December! Now that Thanksgiving is done I thought you might like a little design inspiration and simply all out fun opportunity to “walk through” this completely Virtual Showhouse that you can attend live this Thursday night December 3, in your PJ’s sitting in bed sipping on the Showhouse signature cocktail!
Here’s the recipe to get you started … then read along to find out more!
Showhouses give designers the opportunity to truly show their style. You begin with a blank room, and without a client or existing items you are free to do exactly everything you want … with one caveat, BUDGET! . I have had the pleasure of working in a showhouse before and they are not inexpensive! the idea of this Virtual Showhouse really allows the creativity to come out and there are truly no restrictions! It is a complete, no barrier, freeing opportunity to just go for it!
I do not know all the designers invoived, but happily call several of them friends and I cannot wait to see what they have created. And this group of amazing sponsors that supported this venture …
Sherwin-Williams, Universal Furniture, Signature Kitchen Suite, Cosentino, Global Views, Fabricut, Nathan Anthony, Robin Baron Design, Niermann Weeks, The Howard Elliott Collection, Minka Group, Jaipur Living, Revel Woods, Stressless and Seasonal Living.
A little backstory on how this came about … As you can imagine, when COVID hit many manufacturers were trying to figure out how to showcase their new product. Many of the markets that draw both designers and consumers to experience their new merchandise were canceled. What to do?
It all started with a friendship gained over attending markets and getting to know each other, Gary Pettitt, the founder of Seasonal Living, a true visionary in the manufacturing industry, having foreseen the need for modern, well made and well designed indoor/outdoor furniture and Leslie Carothers, a true strategic planner, social media, content marketing and advertising phenom. If I understand correctly they came up with this idea in February. I have no idea how they were able to pull this off in such a short time. Just another example of determination and support of the design community!
If you cannot make it live on Thursday night, the house will remain online for eternity so you can drop in anytime you desire … just don’t forget your cocktail!! Hope you enjoy!
Let’s Design for Good,
Kim
